It is a great honour and a privilege to be recognized by the Canada Photo Convention as one of Top 30 under 30. To be recognized amongst such an elite group of wonderful artists, many of whom I am pleased to call friends, is an incredible experience and one that I cherish deeply. Each of these artists is an inspiration to continue pushing the limits of my accomplishments.
When I began shooting film it was just a hobby that swiftly became my passion. I shot my first wedding at the age of 21 and have completed more than 30 more since then. My career was briefly interrupted in 2013 when I took a year off to serve in the military. Upon completion of my service, I moved to the beautiful city of Vancouver in January of 2014 and went back to doing what I love.
Weddings are a magical time, when love is in the air, and people radiate with the energy around them. This is what brings me back, time and again, despite personal injury to my knees, to capture every angle and encapsulate each memory so that it may last a lifetime.
Once again, thank you to the judges for their support. This recognition means so much. Thank you also to my fellow contenders and friends for your inspiration and encouragement. Finally, a huge thank-you to each of you that allows me to be a part of those moments you want to remember for the rest of your life. Your trust is humbling and I strive to be a better artist every day for you.
