Where are you from and what area do you serve?
Originally, I'm from Beijing. I serve the Vancouver, Toronto, and the SF Bay area.
Tell us 3 random things about yourself.
I could eat sushi every meal of the week. I'm fascinated by dinosaurs. I daydream about Star Wars scenes reenacted with robots.
If you were a kitchen appliance what would you be?
Toaster. The essential 2-minute-breakfast appliance.
What motivates you and what doesn’t?
People have the power to do both. It's so important to surround yourself with individuals who inspire you and compliment your skills.
Coffee or tea?
Coffee in the AM, tea in the PM.
What’s your favorite food of all time?
Sushi. In particular, I love salmon sashimi and tamago nigiri.
What did you want to be when you grew up?
I don't think we ever really grow up. But when I do, I want to positively impact local communities by bringing them closer together.
Tell us a little bit about your career/history.
I co-founded a design consultancy based in Vancouver. I was the category winner for mobile design at the Canadian Regional Design Awards ('14). My projects have also received international recognition. Honourable mentions include the CEA Innovation Award ('12), and being a finalist in the CNET Best of CES Awards ('13).
What’s something you wish you knew starting out that you know now?
Measure success based on metrics that actually matter to you most as an individual.
What are some of the project you’re working on now?
Highlight clients include Reliance Mobile, Discount Car & Truck Rental, PaigeeWorld, and Real Estate Weekly.
Where you see yourself/your career in 5 years?
I'm not sure. I think I enjoy the process of figuring that out a little too much.
